Notes - 'd' preceeding a year indicates "double date" (transition from Julian Calendar to Gregorian Calendar); e.g., a date such as 5 Mard1716 should be read as 5 Mar 1716/1717.
(NOTE - if the 'd' is not present for a date which seemingly should be a "double date", then assume the year corresponds to the Gregorian Calendar.)
'c' preceeding a year indicates circa (about).
'-' following a year indicates 'through' or 'to' (another date will follow the '-').
'------' (6 dashes) indicates 'unknown' (usually, but not always, used in place of an unknown surname).
Citation references are enclosed within []; Citations are listed near the end of each family group, before the names of the children.
In the Timeline section, if a date is exactly the same in consecutive events, the date is not repeated.

Additional info. [18]

Child #1, Daniel, and Elizabeth ------ may have had a son named Daniel (born c1720). [12] [48]

Child #1, Daniel, and Elizabeth ------ possibly had children: Elizabeth and Hannah. [31] The child, Elizabeth, could be the same as Elizabeth named in Citation #36 and/or child #12, Elizabeth. [15]

Citation #47 makes a case for child #13, daughter, name unknown, being Lydia and marrying Amos Thatcher (possible brother of spouse of child #4, Isaac). [15]

Bible record pertaining to Amos Thatcher, Records->Bible->82.jpg; will of Amos Thatcher, Reference->82.txt [15]

Questions -
The deed dated 3 Mar 1712 should possibly be dated 3 May 1712 since it states in the deed "third of ye third month 1712".
In 1712 the Julian calendar was being used, and the first day of the year in the Julian calendar is 25 Mar with March being the first month. [15]

There are several land records with different dates which may be pertaining to the same land. It's confusing. Daniel Robins may not have owned as much land as is described in the timeline. [15]

Citation #12 and Citation #40 say Daniel Robins purchases 310 acres from Thomas Hart 31 Aug 1696. [15]

Citation #35 refers to Daniel Robins as Daniell Robinson. [15]

Citation #51 refers to Daniel Robins as Daniell Robbinson. [15]

Citation #7 says Daniel Robins living in Monmouth County, New Jersey 1731, but I suspect that's an error. [15]

Citation #54 says Daniel Robins joined Society of Friends 1727, but I think Daniel was a member of Society of Friends before then. Daniel may have joined a particular Monthly Meeting in 1727. [15]

Citation #56 says Daniel Robins purchased 500 acres in Crosswicks, Freehold Township, Monmouth County, Province of East Jersey, Colony of Kingdom of England from John Reid 1695. [15]

It's possible, but unlikely, that the 13 children of Daniel Robins stated in Citation #4 includes Meribah Robins and Sarah Robins, the children for which Daniel Robins was named as guardian in
Citation #37 and Citation #38. [15]

Per Citation #57 (et al) it's difficult to distinguish between child #1, Daniel, and other Daniel Robins who were alive in the same time period and in the same area. [15]

Citation #59 says Mary ------ is Mary Shaw. [15]

Citation #59 names a child, Ephraim (1717 - 22 Jul 1808 Allentown, Monmouth County, New Jersey. [15]

Citation #59 says child #1, Daniel, born 5 Dec 1692; refers to child #1, Daniel, as Daniel Parker. [15]

[2] Explanations - Regarding Timeline events in Oct 1755, the only other Jonathan Robins this could be is 32.1, however it is likely it is this Jonathan Robins (55.0) since child #1, William, married a sister of the subject of the estate in question. (See Citation #33.) . Jonathan Robins and Mary Huff being buried in a cemetery set aside by Dinah Robins (32.0, child iv) in her will. (See Citation #19.) Dinah and her husband are also buried in this cemetery. . Child #1, Jonathan, purchased all the property of his siblings which they inherited from the estate of Isaac Robins (32.0). (See Citation #19.) Isaac Robins purchased all this land from his father, Jonathan Robins (55.0), just before Jonathan died. . location - child #1, Jonathan, always lived in Alexandria Township, Hunterdon County, New Jersey as far as can be ascertained. . naming pattern - Jonathan Robins and Mary Huff named their first daughter Susannah (Jonathan's mother was named Susannah), their first son Charles (the father of Mary Huff was Charles), and their second son Isaac (Jonathan's father was named Isaac. (See Citation #19.) . timing . Citation #33 agrees. [6] Questions - Citation #12 says Susannah ------ daughter of George Hopkins and Rachel Page. 32.1 Jonathan Robins Father - 55.0 Jonathan Robins Mother - Dinah ------ Timeline - c1721 Jonathan Robins born [12] [13] in Hunterdon County, New Jersey, Royal Colony of Great Britain [13] c1748 child #1, John, born in Bethlehem Township, Hunterdon County, New Jersey, Royal Colony of Great Britain [13] c1754 child #2, Jonathan, born [13] [14] in Bethlehem Township, Hunterdon County, New Jersey, Royal Colony of Great Britain [13] 1767 living in Alexandria Township, Hunterdon County, New Jersey, Royal Colony of Great Britain [15] 1777 living in Alexandria Township, [13] Hunterdon County, New Jersey, Royal Colony of Great Britain [13] [15] 30 Dec 1777 Jonathan Robins provided 2 blankets to the Patriots [13] [15] 1796 living in Alexandria Township, Hunterdon County, New Jersey [4] 14 Oct 1796 inventory of estate of Jonathan Robins made [3] [4] 18 Oct 1796 Jonathan Robins (8.1) named as administrator of estate of Jonathan Robins [4] 6 Feb 1798 account of estate of Jonathan Robins filed [4] 3 May 1798 account of estate of Jonathan Robins confirmed [4] Explanations - There is no direct evidence saying this particular Jonathan Robins (32.1) is the son of Jonathan Robins (55.0), however there is circumstantial evidence as follows (also, see Citation #11): . proximity - they both lived in Alexandria Township, Hunterdon County, New Jersey. . timing - Jonathan Robins (32.1) had a child, Jonathan, who was born by 1768 according to Citation #8 (in order to be the executor); this means Jonathan Robins (32.1) would have been born by c1747 (and probably much earlier); Jonathan Robins (55.0) was born in 1694. . Citation #9 says Jonathan Robins (55.0) had a son named Jonathan. . Both were connected to the Johnston/Johnson family. Jonathan Robins (16.1, son of 32.1) married Rachel Johnson, daughter of Ralph Johnson. Jonathan Robins (55.0) had financial dealings with Robert Johnson, son of Ralph Johnson. [2] Child #2, Jonathan, is identified by Citation #1 saying John Robins (16.0) has a brother named Jonathan, and Citation #7 showing that Jonathan Robins (32.1) and child #2, Jonathan, lived close together (possibly on the same land). Additionally, Citation #4 identifies the two Jonathan Robins as Sr and Jr. (There were times when two people of the same name were labeled as Jr and Sr when they weren't father and son simply to differentiate between the two of them, but more often they were indeed father and son.) [2] Jonathan Robins (8.1) is shown as the Jonathan Robins who was the administrator of the estate of Jonathan Robins (32.1) based upon circumstantial evidence: . Jonathan Robins (8.1) was of age (21 or older) in 1796. . Jonathan Robins (8.1) was the grandson of Jonathan Robins (32.1). . Jonathan Robins (8.1) is shown to be living in Greenwich Township, Sussex County, New Jersey. [2] Extras - Citation #5 shows a Jonathan Robins who refused to take "the Test" (swearing allegiance to the United States of America) in Oct 1777. This is likely either Jonathan Robins (32.1) or Jonathan Robins (16.1). [2] Citation #6 shows a Jonathan Robins who is identified as a tenant in a New Jersey Supreme Court case. This is likely either Jonathan Robins (32.1) or Jonathan Robins (16.1). [2] Citation #10 is a map showing where Jonathan Robins (32.1) lived. [2] Questions - The Jonathan Robins who supplied 2 blankets to the Patriots 30 Dec 1777 could have been 16.1 but it seems more likely that it was 32.1. [2] Citations - 1. 16.0 John Robins Father - 32.1 Jonathan Robins Mother - name unknown Timeline - c1748 John Robins born in Bethlehem Township, Hunterdon County, New Jersey, Royal Colony of Great Britain [15] c1752 Elizabeth ------ born in New Jersey, Royal Colony of Great Britain [15] 7 Jan 1774 child #1, Jonathan G., born [8] [11] [12] 6 Jan 1777 child #2, Robert, born [9] [10] [15] in Alexandria Township, Hunterdon County, New Jersey, Royal Colony of Great Britain [15] 1789 living in Alexandria Township, Hunterdon County, New Jersey [1] 14 Jul 1789 will of John Robins made [1] 19 Nov 1789 will of John Robins proved [1] Notes - John Robins married Elizabeth ------. [1] All sons born after 1768 since none of them are 21 years old in 1789. [1] All daughters born after 1771 since none of them ar 18 years old in 1789. [1] Questions - Elizabeth ------ may be Elizabeth Green (several grandchildren have the middle name of Green). Also, see Citation #13 and Citation #14. [3] Citation #15 says John Robins born c1748 in Alexandria Township, Hunterdon County, New Jersey, Royal Colony of Great Britain (Alexandria Township was created 1765 from Bethlehem Township). [2] Citation #4 and Citation #5 say John Robins born 6 Jand1750 in Bethlehem Township, Hunterdon County, New Jersey, Royal Colony of Great Britain (Alexandria Township was created 1765 from Bethlehem Township). The birthdate 6 Jand1750 for John Robins can be found in many places, however a primary source for that date has never been identified. [2] Citation #9 says child #3, Mary, married Spencer Carter Smith, but that may be being confused with Mary Vanover Robins (4.3). [2] Explanations - There is no direct evidence saying John Robins is the son of Jonathan Robins (32.1), however there is circumstantial evidence as follows: . In Citation #1, John Robins names his children with Jonathan being first making Jonathan likely the eldest child. This would follow a traditional child-naming pattern by naming the first-born son after the paternal grandfather. . In Citation #1, John Robins says his son Robert is to "live with his grandfather and learn the weavers trade". The inventory (Citation #5) of the estate of Jonathan Robins (32.1) lists several items which would be used by a weaver. . Citation #1 indicates that the father of John Robins is still alive in 1789. Jonathan Robins (32.1) is the only Jonathan Robins (other than Jonathan Robins (32.1, child ii)) who qualifies. Citation #1 names a brother of John Robins, Jonathan, which fits as 32.1, child ii. . John Robins lived in Alexandria Township, Hunterdon County, New Jersey as did Jonathan Robins (32.1) (Alexandria Township was created in 1765; before that the area was in Bethlehem Township). . Citation #6 also believes John Robins is the son of Jonathan Robins (32.1). . timing - John Robins (16.0) is the right age to be the son of Jonathan Robins (32.1). . Citation #15 agrees. [2] Citation #3 shows that John Robins can not be the son of Jonathan Robins (55.0). [2] Child #1, Jonathan, is shown to be the executor of the estate of Jonathan Robins (32.1) as follows: . child #1, Jonathan, is the grandson of Jonathan Robins (32.1). . child #1, Jonathan, was of age (at least 21) at the time he was named as executor (1796). . child #1, Jonathan, is shown to have lived in Greenwich Township, Sussex County (later Warren County), New Jersey via census reports, naming, timing and siblings living in the same township (the executor of the estate of Jonathan Robins (32.1) was named as Jonathan Robins of Greenwich Township). . Citation #15 agrees. [2] Child #1, Jonathan, is shown to be the same Jonathan Robins who lived in Greenwich Township, Sussex County (later Warren County), New Jersey and was a Lieutenant during the War of 1812 and later was promoted to a Colonel as follows: . proximity - Greenwich Township is next door to Alexandria Township. . timing - the birthdate of child #1, Jonathan, is right to be the same Jonathan Robins. . naming - the firstborn son of Jonathan Robins of Greenwich Township is John, the same name as the father of child #1, Jonathan. . the middle name of the secondborn son of Jonathan Robins of Greenwich Township is Green, the presumed birth name of the mother of child #1, Jonathan. . process of elimination - all other known Jonathan Robins of the same time period are accounted for. . siblings of child #1, Jonathan, lived nearby in Greenwich Township. [7] Rachel Johnson daughter of Ralph Johnson. [7] Jonathan Robins would have been at least 21 years old in 1789 since he was named as the executor of the estate of John Robins (16.0) referenced in Citation #6. [5] Child #3, John, married Abigail Cooley; family buried in Milford Christian Churchyard. [7] Questions - Citation #12 says Rachel Johnson died in Montour County, Pennsylvania. [5] Citation #13 says Jonathan Robins born in Alexandria Township, Hunterdon County, New Jersey, Royal Colony of Great Britain but Alexandria Township was created 1765 from Bethlehem Township, Hunterdon County, New Jersey, Royal Colony of Great Britain. [5] Citation #13 says Jonathan Robins born 1748. [5] Extras - Citation #3 shows a Jonathan Robins who refused to take "the Test" (swearing allegiance to the United States of America) in Oct 1777. This is likely either Jonathan Robins (32.1) or Jonathan Robins (16.1). [5] Citation #4 shows a Jonathan Robins who is identified as a tenant in a New Jersey Supreme Court case. This is likely either Jonathan Robins (32.1) or Jonathan Robins (16.1). [5] Citation #10 is a map showing where Jonathan Robins (16.1) lived. [2] Explanations - The Jonathan Robins named in the Timeline event dated Aug 1777 is identified as 16.1 since the surety is Ralph Johnson (father-in-law of 16.1). [5] Citations - 1.
